Boy Scouts: A Step In The Right Diretion

On New Years Day, the Boy Scouts of America finally opened their doors to openly gay members for the first time, marking a major reversal of policy brought on by years of advocacy from LGBT groups and allies.

If this announcement sounds familiar, it is because the policy reversal happened back in May of 2013.

The new policy forbids any applicant younger than 18 from being denied admittance based on their sexual orientation.

Which begs the question of "What about adult Scouts and Scout leaders etc?"

Policy makers have not committed to examining this issue but LGBT rights activists are ready for the challenge.

"We know that change won't happen overnight, and we're ready to do the work," - Zach Wahls of Scouts for Equality.
