In My Own Words.... Movie Review / Dallas Buyer's Club
Kayleia Southard

The Dallas Buyers Club is a touching movie about the AIDS crisis and a sobering look at the way treatment is inaccessible due to regulations put in place to protect the population. This is one of the few large screen films with a transgender character (Rayon played by Jared Leto). It is a tale about overcoming homophobia but much more, it is a story of survival.

It was one of the few independent films I was sad was going to not be shown in Fresno. I was considering taking a trip to another city just to see it. No need for a road trip now!

The film did so well on it's limited run that it started showing in Clovis and Fresno on the November 20th. I went to a matinee and was there with only 1 other guest.

Please go out and support this amazing movie and show theaters that movies with leading Trans characters are profitable and worth being made!
