The Fresno LGBT Community Center will be designated as a new Fresno Safe Place site during a ribbon-cutting ceremony Thursday, said Fresno EOC Sanctuary and Youth Services.
The Safe Place system consists of more than 269 businesses, community buildings and parks that display a black and yellow Safe Place sign. Young people who enter those designated locations can ask for help and volunteers will connect them to an appropriate local shelter.
Fresno Council Member Oliver Baines will cut the ribbon to officially dedicate the site during the ceremony from 3 to 5 p.m. at 1055 N. Van Ness Ave., Suite A.
