The Supreme Court has declared that a basic premise of DOMA,
the Defense of Marriage Act, is unconstitutional. The Federal Government can no
longer treat same sex couples, married in the states where it is legal,
differently than married heterosexual couples. This allows legally married same
sex couples to access the over 1,100 federal rights that they have been blocked
from participating in because of the 1996 Defense of Marriage Act.
Fresno’s DAY OF DECISION, a local event happening at 6PM at
Fresno’s City Hall, will bring the community together to mark this historic
ruling. Please join us in CELEBRATION and solidarity. These DAY OF DECISION
events are happening across the country.
