MTV Casting Call For Fresno

MTV is looking for LGBT people, who appear to be 15-25 years of age, to participate in the next "It Gets Better" special. They have reached out to Gay Central Valley to help them get the word out in the Fresno area.

MTV's "It Gets Better" special will feature young people on the LGBTQ spectrum who are making it better for themselves, however they choose. We hope to show the strength of their character, while highlighting the obstacles that they encounter because of their sexual orientation and / or gender identity. Here are some examples of things we've heard:

* confronting a bullying situation in some way
* starting a GSA in a conservative high school
* addressing homophobia / hurtful comments / ignorance
* working to get out of a couch surfing situation
* trying to reconnect with a family member or loved one
* dealing with discrimination
* fighting for legal rights
* improving a relationship with a family member or friend
* coming out in some form
* advancing one's transition
* using music, comedy or some sort of performance to share your sexual orientation / gender identity
* struggling with acceptance
